Adobe Photoshop

The design process that went into creating the LinkedIn banner.

Planning

Problem/Goal

My LinkedIn banner was a very outdated, low quality image that didn't support my current role at my job.

Objective

Use Photoshop to create a professional LinkedIn banner that used proper branding and that accurately depicted my role.

Stakeholders

Users on LinkedIn, professional connections, and potential employers.

Target Audience

LinkedIn users, coworkers, and employers

Execution

Design Process
The elements of my LinkedIn banner were carefully selected to reflect my role as clearly as possible. The background image is a photo I took of a group of students in one of our MATTER Innovation Hubs in Uganda. I then used Jamf’s internal branding guidelines to match the specific shade of blue featured in the banner. Finally, I added my department’s custom logo to complete the design.
Reflection
This project helped me become more mindful of elements such as brand colors and the importance of designing with a specific space in mind. By creating a LinkedIn banner at the proper dimensions, I had to ensure that all components fit correctly and displayed as intended on my profile. Moving forward, I will be more intentional about both my design choices and their placement.
