Planning

Problem/Goal

Facilitators across all of my MATTER Innovation Hubs (MIHs) email me to receive help, and then have to wait for me to be available in my timezone. This means that they must sometimes wait over 12 hours before receiving help.

Objective

Create an app that provides immediate solutions for my facilitators and allows them to continue their lessons as quickly as possible.

Stakeholders

MIH facilitators and Jamf Community Education Initiatives team.

Target Audience

MIH facilitators.

Execution

Design Process
When designing Hub Help, I wanted to create an app prototype that was simple, direct, and visually appealing. I aimed for it to feel as though the user was interacting with a computer, which inspired my choice of a font reminiscent of the Apple Lisa. I also chose a high-contrast design to ensure every element was easy to see. The app guides users through a series of straightforward questions to direct them to the solution they need as quickly as possible.
Reflection
I really enjoyed using Figma—it was one of my favorite tools in the course. Figma allowed me to work with design elements in very flexible ways and didn’t constrain me to any specific style. I’m excited to bring Figma into the MATTER Career Readiness Institute (MCRI) as a tool for students who are creating apps using Swift. It will serve as an excellent bridge between my Canva brainstorming worksheet and the actual coding and development of their apps.
